Our Product Packaging

Our Product Packaging

I try to be as eco-friendly as possible by utilizing packaging and materials that can help you reuse or recycle our skincare packaging. Below, I've listed what I currently use and my best efforts to make future change.

Current Packaging

Glass Jars and Bottles: Products are packaged in glass. Glass can easily be cleaned for reuse, but can easily be recycled, too. If you choose to recycle, please clean before dropping into your bin.

Plastic (PP) Lids: Although PP can be recycled, it is not readily available in all centers. If you choose to reuse your glass, please reuse your lid. *I am working to source aluminum lids that can be recycled.

Zero Waste Products: We are creating a line of products that are zero waste - to us, this means NO packaging that has to be thrown out, not even paper or card board. All of our zero waste products will be shipped naked with a seed paper informational card that can be planted to experience beautiful wild flowers.

100% Recycled Labels: All labels used on the glass packaging is made from 100% post-consumer materials. These labels will fade over time and will not hold up against getting wet. *I have sourced biodegradable labels and will be transitioning over time.

Kraft Tubes: With expanding my line, I will be adding deodorant and lip balms. These products will be in biodegradable / compostable packaging.

100% Biodegradable Compostable Labels: Used along with our (Kraft) biodegradable packaging. I will be moving to adding these labels for all products.

Pressure Seals: All of our jar products will come with a pressure seal. This is a safety measure. Unfortunately, this seal cannot be recycled and will have to be thrown away. *I will continue to seek out other options on this material.

Shipping to You

Boxes: All of our shipping boxes are cardboard and 100% recyclable. We try to always buy Kraft brown boxes but not always possible.

Crinkle Paper: Our crinkle paper used for cushioning is compostable. It can also be recycled if needed and will breakdown if you must throw away. And in keeping with our reuse and upcycle approach, we will use brown paper bags (grocery/shopping style) that have been shredded in leu of purchasing crinkle paper.

Packing Peanuts: We do reuse all biodegradable packing peanuts that come in materials we purchase for cushioning our packages. We donate all other packing peanuts to our local shipping facilities to reuse.

Tissue Paper: We purchase acid-free tissue paper to use in our packaging

Packing Tape: We use a brown Kraft gummed packaging tape to secure packages. *I am working towards sourcing an eco-friendly tape.

Thank you and product notes: Every purchase will receive a simple thank you note. This note is printed on seed paper. Once you are done with the information, please plant your seed paper and see what wildflowers sprout! If you receive a product note - you can do the same. All are printed on seed paper.

Future Possibilities

100% Biodegradable Packaging: Sugar cane packaging is eco-friendly as it is produced from a renewable source, is biodegradable, and compostable. Unfortunately, for the small, handmade business it is not easily affordable. I continue to pursue sourcing.
